Ride for the Stone – 2015-02-28

On a rainy Saturday, February 28, 2015, over one hundred bikers got together for a uniquely wonderful cause. Imagine having a child pass away and after all the expenses that come with this horrible event, you can’t afford a headstone to mark their final resting place. This is what happened with the Summersill family a few years back. Bradley Summersill and a friend, were killed by a drunk driver and the financial burden of this tragedy was devastating to the point not being able to furnish a graveside marker. The family got that marker with the help of friends, family and community. The parents of Bradley, Brian and Peggy, decided then that this should not happen to anyone and starting doing what they could to help victims of a tragedy like this. The event was called The 6th Annual “Ride For The Stone” and this day, other than the weather, seemed to be a complete success. With a five stop poker run, raffles, free food and fun, this benefit was a great day. Brian “Bubba” and wife Peggy Summersill, along with daughter Deanna started the Summersill Foundation raise monies and take donations all year for the cause. These donations help several families each year get through this horrible situation. I have been involved in many events for many various causes and this one rates right up there. Look for it next year the Saturday after the Daytona 500 or check their website at.

BradleySummersillFoundation.org I would like to personally thank Bubba, Peggy, Deanna, all their family and friends and all the bikers for the hospitality shown to me and Rider Now Magazine during this event for such an amazing cause. Thank you very much and keep up the great work.
