$7500 check presentation to The Bradley Summersill Foundation Inc., with (from left) Bubba and Peggy Summersill and Bike, Blues & BBQ event Coordinator James Thornton of the South Lake Moose 1615 What do you get when you add 150 lbs of ribs, 35 lbs of chicken, 60 lbs of pulled pork, 92 riders, dozens of volunteers, awesome entertainment and great weather? You get $7,500 to help out a great foundation here in Lake County.

On Saturday, October 2nd, the first Bikes, Blues and BBQ event was held at and sponsored by members of the South Lake Moose Lodge 1615 along with its Auxiliary and Rider group to help support the Bradley Summersill Foundation. The Foundation was started as a benefit fundraiser to help Bubba, Peggy and the Summersill family with the purchase of a headstone for their son Bradley, who was killed by a drunk driver on January 1, 2010. Extra money was raised, so now the family has continued to help provide graveside markers for families of young people who are killed under the age of 24 and are not able to afford that expense.

The South Lake Moose would like to thank The Jeff Howell Blues Band and the Kim Hartman Band for donating their talents for the event. Special thanks go to Zeisloft Trucking, Lake Construction, Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson, Dorsey Air, Rics Electric and Teddy Martin Trucking for their sponsorships. The South Lake Moose Lodge looks forward to hosting the 7th Annual Ride for the Stone to be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, to help the Summersill family continue in their efforts to help other families in need.
